CPD Courses

Metis runs CPD courses for Regulatory Bodies, Training Consortia, Local Groups, in-house financial reporting departments of larger companies and accountancy practices.

Whilst most of our clients are in the accountancy sector, our money laundering course has for example been presented to Estate Agents and could easily be adapted for other organisations that work within the AML Regulated Sector.

Bespoke courses can be created and we are happy to discuss your specific requirements.

We are currently presenting the following courses which can run with little or no tailoring:

  • Anti-Money Laundering
    • This is a two hour comprehensive course suitable for staff at all levels
  • Small Company Financial Reporting
    • This course covers determining whether a company is small, the disclosure requirement of FRS 102 (Section1A), accounting treatments under FRS 102, and the filing options available to small companies. This course ideally lasts three quarters of a day and can be combined with the micro course to make a full day, or scaled backed to a half day course.
  • Micro Company Financial Reporting
    • This course covers determining whether a company is micro, the limited disclosure requirements of FRS 105 and the accounting treatments that this Standard requires. Plus filing options for micro companies
  • ‘Update’ Courses
    • Metis runs 1 1/2 hours quarterly or three hour six monthly update courses. These can include or exclude audit depending on whether your practice is registered to undertake audits. They cover developments relevant to small general accountancy practices but do not cover direct or indirect taxation. They also often look at problematic areas (for example one quarter may look at accounting for Investment properties). A course synopsis would typically cover:
      • Money laundering developments and issues;
      • Financial reporting developments;
      • ICAEW / ACCA / IFA (tailored to your practice) Regulatory developments
      • Legislative changes

Courses can be run on a one to one basis or group basis. They can be presented remotely or in person. The charge for a course is £95 per hour for the course, plus a charge will be rendered for setting up, tailoring (where necessary), travel if in excess of 2 hours, plus relevant disbursements.
